Animals have always been the object of my creative affections. Horses, unicorns, pegasi and other curious creatures (even the occasional human - or perhaps faery!) were scrawled across my childhood notebooks, often accompanied by stories, poems and notes on character creation - another early love that stayed with me, for I still delight in writing when I get the chance. And yes, before you ask, I most certainly had a few imaginary animal friends too! I've never known a creature - real or imaginal - that didn't have its own unique character and spark, and it's that unseen but oh-so-present spirit and soul essence that I try to capture in my work.
